This policy explains how traildek.com uses cookies and similar storage, why, and how you can control them. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We also use related browser storage such as localStorage. We group what we use into the four categories below.
Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to work. These cannot be turned off.
- Authentication and session (Clerk): keeps you logged in and secures your account.
- Cookie consent state: remembers your choices on the banner so we do not ask every visit.
Functional
Improve how the site works for you.
- Cart persistence (localStorage): keeps items in your cart between visits.
- Other preferences that make the site easier to use.
Analytics
Help us understand site usage in aggregate. We use first-party analytics only and do not load third-party trackers like Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.
Marketing
We currently use no marketing or advertising cookies. If we add any in the future, we will list them here and request your consent first.
How long cookies last
- Session cookies expire when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies (consent state, cart) last from a few days up to about a year, depending on their purpose.
Managing your cookies
- Use the Cookie Settings link in the footer to open the consent panel, where you can accept or reject Functional, Analytics, and Marketing categories. Strictly Necessary cookies stay on because the site needs them.
- You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
